Question 2: How does you media product represent particular social groups?
My media product represents the Gothic and Emo social groups as being rather depressed and abused by other social groups. Also i represent Chavs as being the stronger superior social class that sees itself as being dominate and other groups as being weaker and less equivalent.
Question 3: What kind of institution might distribute your media product and why?
I feel that if my final media product was to be distributed by an institution that it would probably be an institute such as Summit Entertainment, Lionsgate or Film Four. i think this as these institutions have distributed films such as Twilight that are considered by larger organizations as not being blockbusters.
Question 4: Who would your audience be?
The audience for my finished product would be teenagers around the ages of 14 to 19 who are within social groups such as Emo's, Goths, Scene Kids and also people who see themselves as not being part of a social group. As well as the above younger children may feel the need to see it as they may find the film may excite them and scare them.
Question 5: How did you attract your audience?
I attracted the audience by having actors dress and act like certain social groups, these social groups were Emo's, Goths and Scene Kids. Also the music used is a song that would possibly be known by these social groups. the script was wrote to try and link in with what these social groups may like to see in films without losing interest.
Question 6: What have you learnt about technologies in the process of constructing your product?
When using the technology available to me when filming and editing the final product I feel that I learnt a few things about what I used. Before I started the media studies course I had never used an Apple Mac or the Final Cut express software I had no idea what did what. After using the equipment for around five to six months i feel capeable of using the equipment effectively.
Question 7: What have you learnt progressing from the preliminary task to the main task?
Progressing from the preliminary task to the main task i felt i have learnt more about how specific camera angles can make an individual seem weak or strong. Also before starting the course I'd never used a blog before but i feel that blogs are a great way of keeping work in one place and making it easily accessible. Final Cut express was a new program to me as i had never used a Apple Mac and I feel that now I have had the chance to use it I have become more able to produce better edited films.

First reactions to finished product
When i first saw our finished product i felt that there was something about the teenager who is seen in the first scene. When the title sequence started with the teenager fadeing in and out of the shot i thought that the flim had a bit of a scare factor to it. I felt the music created a suspense to what was going to happen as well. The ending where the teenager reappears as a ghost against the lampost has an effect on you where you feel a cringe.

Questionnaire research for thriller films
These are the questionnaires that we created to find out what sort of age people are, there gender and what they expect form a horror film. This will allow for us to involve aspects people will be expecting and leaving things out that they would least like to see in a horror film.
Using the feedback we got from the questionnaires we have been able to include aspects people are expecting to see in horror films and things that people feel make horrors not so horrific.

These are photos of the location Josh and I intend on filming the last scene at. We feel that this location will provide suitable qualities for the setting of a horror film. The set when filming will be in darkness with street lights providing us hopefully suitable lighting.
These photos are of where we will be filming the fade walking and the scenes of a young teen killing them self. I felt that these locations offered a sense of confusion and that they also had a sense of fear to them if you walked past them at night alone.
This is the location for the scene where the young teen get abused by the other teen over the computer.

Narrative structure for main task
This is the narrative structure for Josh and my thriller video. This was done so that if we were filming an entire film it would have structure the whole way through.
Storyboard for main task
These are the story boards for our film introduction. These are for me and Josh to follow when we film.

Decision made!!!
Josh and I decided on doing a Horror as our main task on the 4/01/2011. We decided this as we felt that locations for a horror were quiet easy to find. At first we had other intentions of filming a crime film but decided that a horror would be easier to film as we had easier access to props and actors. If we filmed a crime film we would have had to find a lot more actors which would be a struggle.
Definition of a Horror Film
What is a Horror Film?
Horror films are unsettling movies that strive to elicit the emotions of fear, disgust and horror from viewers. They often feature scenes that startle the viewer through the means of macabre and the supernatural, thus frequently overlapping with the fantasy and science fiction genres. Horrors also frequently overlap with the thriller genre.
